Joplin Jailbirds Sign Neosho Alum to the Roster

Alex Rodriguez has signed to play in Joplin this summer

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Joplin Jailbirds sign freshman, Alex Rodriguez, from Labette Community College. Rodriguez is a Neosho native, growing up playing baseball in the metro area. 

Rodriguez appeared in 11 games this first season for Labette Community College. Rodriguez has wrapped up his first season in college and will continue to sharpen his skills in Joplin this summer to return to campus in the fall. 

“We are excited to add Alex to the pitching staff here in Joplin! He will be an arm we rely on heavily this summer and will be a workhorse for us.” shared Jailbirds Field Manager, Octavio Sanchez.

The Joplin Jailbirds will debut in Kirksville on May 29th, and their season home opener in Joplin on Tuesday, June 2nd.
